Privacy Policy
What information Pixel Heist collects when you visit this website or get in touch, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated October 23, 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit pixelheist.com or contact Pixel Heist, a web studio based in Buffalo, New York. It covers this website only. We have kept it short on purpose, because we collect very little.
The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us through the contact form, and nothing more about you personally.
- We count visits with privacy-friendly analytics. There are no cookies, no advertising trackers, and no profiles.
- We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- You can ask us what we have and have it corrected or deleted.
Information we collect
What you send us. When you use the contact form we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, and message, plus your business name, current website, the kind of help you are looking for, and a budget range if you choose to share them. We use this to answer you.
Basic visit statistics. We use a self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics tool (GoatCounter) that records which pages are viewed, the site that referred the visit, the type of browser and device, screen size, and roughly which country the visit came from. It does not use cookies, does not keep your IP address, and does not follow you across other websites. We also count how often the “Start a project” button is clicked.
Server records. Like any website, our server automatically records technical details of each request, such as the IP address, the time, the page requested, and the browser in use. We keep these for security and troubleshooting.
Spam protection. The contact form uses a small proof-of-work check that runs in your browser, a hidden trap field for automated bots, and a limit on how many messages one connection can send in an hour. The check does not use cookies, does not show puzzles, and does not send anything to a third-party service.
What we do not do
- We do not set cookies.
- We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or cross-site tracking.
- We do not load fonts, scripts, or embeds from other companies. Everything on the site is served from our own domain.
- We do not send marketing email. We only write to you in reply to something you sent us.
How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- reply to your enquiry and, if you ask for one, prepare a quote or proposal;
- run, secure, and fix this website and keep out spam and abuse;
- understand which pages are useful so we can improve them; and
- meet legal and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the site and our business, such as our web host and our email provider, and only so they can do that work for us. Your contact form message is delivered to us by email, so it passes through our email provider. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the security of our site or our rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need to respond and to keep sensible business records. If you become a client, the information we hold about your project is covered by our agreement with you. Server records are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. If you would like something deleted sooner, ask us.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, including New York residents. We do not track you across sites, so browser “Do Not Track” and similar signals have nothing to change. To make a request, use our contact page, and we will reply within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, in line with New York’s data security requirements, including the SHIELD Act. The site is served over HTTPS and sends security headers that limit what a page is allowed to do. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects personal information of New York residents, we will notify them as New York law requires.
Children
This website is meant for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Other websites and our clients’ sites
This site may link to other websites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Websites we build or host for our clients are run by those clients and have their own policies. Where we host or maintain a client’s site, we handle the information on it only as the client directs under our agreement with them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant we will make that clear on the site.
