The project
What was wrong
After a disagreement with their previous agency, Michael’s Event Center reached out to us and explained the situation. The site was nothing more than a set of ASPX pages being served to visitors. The owners had no access to their own content, so even a small change to a menu or a banquet room page was out of their hands.
A venue lives on what it can show: rooms, menus, photos, and what is happening this season. A site the owners cannot touch cannot keep up with any of it.
What we did
We moved everything over using scraping tools, so nothing was lost or retyped by hand, and then imported all of the content into the new site and brought it up to date.
We did a full redesign, including a new logo, and rebuilt the site around what people planning a wedding or banquet come looking for: the banquet rooms, the menus, the photo galleries, and a clear way to get in touch.
The new site runs on our content management system, set up so the owners can edit their pages and menus themselves.
What happened
The owners now update their own content, with no agency in the way and no request to wait on.
We still take care of the site: SEO, hosting, and maintenance. When Michael’s needs something new, such as a new component or an update, we add it as it comes up.
